Basic Candle Melt Formula

Basic Candle Melt Formula (Soy / Wax Melt Blend)

Standard Ratio
  • Wax: 90%
  •  Fragrance oil: 8–10%
  •  Color (optional): 0.1–0.5%
  •  Wax melts usually hold more fragrance than candles because there’s no wick to clog.

 Example Formulas
  •  Small Batch (100g total)
    •  90g wax
    •  8–10g fragrance oil
    •  A few drops or pinches of dye
  •  Medium Batch (300g total)
    • 270g wax
    •  24–30g fragrance oil

 Recommended Wax
  • Types for Melts
    • Best throw + easy release: Soy wax made specifically for melts
    •  Soy + paraffin blend (stronger scent throw)
    •  Soy + beeswax (harder, more natural)
  •  If using container soy wax, add 5–10% beeswax or paraffin to make melts harder.

 Step-by-Step (Quick)
  • Melt wax to 70–75°C
  •  Add fragrance at 65–70°C
  •  Stir gently for 2 minutes
  •  Add color (if any)
  •  Pour into mold at 60–65°C
  •  Let set 4–6 hours
  •  Cure 24–48 hours before use

 Pro Tips
  •  Strong scents: go up to 10% fragrance load
  •  Light/soft scents: stay around 8%
  •  Cure longer (3–5 days) = stronger throw
  •  Use silicone molds for easy release
