[Review] Kdrama - Undercover Miss Hong

Undercover Miss Hong

Undercover Miss Hong is an entertaining mix of crime investigation, workplace drama, and comedy. Set in the late 1990s, the story follows Hong Geum-bo, an elite financial investigator who goes undercover as a young office employee to uncover corruption inside a powerful securities company.

  Overall Review
The drama stands out for its unique premise. Watching a skilled investigator pretend to be a naïve junior employee creates many humorous and tense moments. The undercover setting allows the story to explore office politics, corruption, and power struggles while still maintaining lighthearted comedic scenes.

One of the biggest strengths of the series is the performance of Park Shin‑hye. Her character balances intelligence, confidence, and humor as she shifts between a strict investigator and a seemingly inexperienced intern. Critics and audiences praised how convincingly she portrayed both sides of the character.

The supporting cast also adds depth to the story. The friendships among the women living together, especially the “Room 301” group, provide emotional warmth and solidarity in a male-dominated workplace. Their backstories make the drama more meaningful beyond just the main investigation.

Another highlight is the drama’s satisfying storyline about justice. As the investigation unfolds, the corruption within the company becomes clearer, and the ending delivers a strong sense of closure when the villains finally face consequences.

 Weaknesses
Despite its strengths, the drama is not perfect. The first episode introduces many characters and plotlines at once, which can make the story feel complicated or confusing at the beginning. Some viewers also felt that the comedic tone sometimes clashes with the serious crime storyline.

 Final Thoughts
Overall, Undercover Miss Hong is a compelling drama that combines mystery, workplace satire, and emotional storytelling. It offers both suspense and humor while highlighting themes such as justice, friendship, and perseverance.
