FUN FACT LI XIAN

• He almost studied science instead of acting 
• Before becoming famous, Li Xian originally planned to major in STEM subjects. After retaking China’s college entrance exam, he was accepted into the Beijing Film Academy as an acting student. 
• He changed his Chinese name for practical reasons 
• His original name used a rare Chinese character (“晛”), but he later changed it to the simpler “现” because it was easier for school registration and daily use. 
• He can play musical instruments 
• Li Xian knows how to play both the saxophone and guitar, and he also enjoys singing. 
• He’s afraid of heights and horror movies 
• Even though he often plays confident characters on screen, he has admitted he’s acrophobic (afraid of heights) and avoids horror movies because they scare him. 
• He became China’s “July Boyfriend” 
• After starring in the hit drama Go Go Squid!, fans nicknamed him “July Boyfriend” because his popularity exploded during July 2019.
