Hotel Vibe Formula - Bedroom
OVERALL CONCEPT (Hotel Vibe Formula)
To get that hotel feeling, focus on 4 things:
- Neutral colours → white, beige, light grey, wood
- Soft lighting → warm, indirect light only
- Minimal furniture → only what you need
- Hidden clutter → everything stored neatly
- 👉 Goal: “nothing extra in the room” feeling
1. BED (MOST IMPORTANT)
- Choose a simple queen bed frame with clean lines.
- What to get:
- Low platform bed OR simple metal/wood frame
- No heavy carved headboard
- Neutral bedsheets (white/beige/grey)
- Why: Hotels feel spacious because the bed looks “light”, not bulky.
2. LIGHTING (THIS CREATES THE HOTEL FEEL)
- Do NOT rely on ceiling light alone.
- You need 2–3 layers:
- Warm ceiling bulb (dim, warm white)
- Bedside lamp OR table lamp
- Optional: LED strip behind bed
- Rule:
- 2700K–3000K warm light only
- No harsh white light at night
3. STORAGE (KEEP ROOM CLEAN = LOOKS EXPENSIVE)
- Hotel vibe = no visible clutter.
- Get:
- 1 wardrobe (closed door) OR sliding door wardrobe if possible
- Avoid:
- Open clothes rack (kills aesthetic)
- Visible mess
4. WALL DECOR (LESS IS MORE)
- Only use 1 focal point wall above bed
- Ideas:
- 1 large abstract painting or 2 minimal framed prints or fabric wall panel (soft hotel feel)
- Don’t over-decorate walls.
5. SOFT FURNISHINGS (MAKES IT COZY)
- This is what makes the room feel “luxury hotel”
- Add:
- 1 bedsheet set (hotel white style)
- 2–4 pillows (fluffy look)
- 1 throw blanket
- 1 small bedside rug
- Stick to neutral tones only.
6. CURTAINS (BIG IMPACT UPGRADE)
- Use:
- Sheer white curtains (daylight softness)
- Blackout curtain (sleep comfort)
- This gives instant hotel mood.
7. OPTIONAL DECOR (SMALL TOUCHES)
- Keep it minimal:
- 1 small plant (snake plant / pothos)
- 1 scent diffuser (lavender / woody scent)
- 1 tray on bedside table
SIMPLE ROOM LAYOUT (IMPORTANT)
- For 12×12 ft:
- ✔ Bed against main wall (centered)
- ✔ Wardrobe on side wall
- ✔ Small bedside table (or floating shelf)
- ✔ Lamp on one side
- ✔ Keep floor space open in center
- 👉 Rule: walkable space = luxury feel
COMMON MISTAKES
- Too many furniture pieces
- Bright white lighting everywhere
- Pattern-heavy bedsheets
- Open storage clutter
- Too many decorations
